Vectus® diode laser
A diode laser with integrated contact cooling, a large laser spot and melanin measurement in the treatment area. We use it for hair removal on large areas such as the back, legs and bikini area.
Overview
The Vectus is a diode laser made by Cynosure and our system for laser hair removal on larger body regions. It delivers up to 100 joules per square centimetre. To make such a high energy output possible while keeping discomfort as low as possible, it has a strong integrated contact cooling. Pulse durations of up to 300 milliseconds allow the treatment to be adjusted to different skin types.
Alongside a 12 × 12 millimetre spot (1.44 square centimetres) the Vectus has a 23 × 38 millimetre spot (8.74 square centimetres). The large spot is intended for the back, chest, abdomen, underarm, bikini area and legs. Because the laser pulses should not overlap in hair removal, narrow gaps inevitably remain untreated in each session. The larger the spot, the smaller the sum of these gaps and the shorter the treatment of large surfaces.
A particular feature is the melanin measuring device integrated into the system. It measures the current melanin content of the skin in the treatment area. Together with the entered values for hair colour, hair thickness and hair density, the laser calculates from it the treatment parameters for the respective session.
Areas of application
- Laser hair removal on large areas such as the back, chest, abdomen, underarm, bikini area and legs
- Hair removal on different skin types, as pulse duration and treatment parameters are adjusted to the skin type and the measured melanin content
- For small areas and where sensitivity to pain is pronounced we use the LightSheer instead
