Long-pulse Nd:YAG laser
The long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser penetrates deep into the skin. We use it for reticular veins and spider veins, for dilated small vessels, for hair removal including darker skin types, and for nail fungus.
Overview
The long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser works with a wavelength of 1064 nm and is characterised by a high penetration depth. We use it to treat deeper-lying vessels, for laser hair removal on darker skin types up to skin type 6 and, because of its penetration depth, for hair removal in particular on the back. With reticular veins, small varicose veins running in a net-like pattern, the penetration depth comes into play: even thicker clusters of vessels can be reached. One difference from sclerotherapy concerns the aftercare: after laser treatment of spider veins, compression stockings do not have to be worn for weeks. Which method is suitable in the individual case depends on the size and depth of the vessels.
Beyond that, the laser is used for nail fungus that has resisted other therapies, as one component of a combined concept of laser treatment, topical and, where needed, systemic therapy and podiatric nail care.
