Dermatology
Skin cancer
Skin cancer is becoming more common worldwide, malignant melanoma above all. Whether it can be cured depends largely on how early it is detected. That is why we recommend annual screening and check-up examinations; after a diagnosis, follow-up is added.

Light therapy (phototherapy)
For psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and chronic hand and foot eczema we treat with UVB, UVA/UVB or PUVA, depending on the findings, as whole-body or as targeted irradiation.

- UVB therapy (partial- or whole-body irradiation)
Outpatient surgery
We carry out dermatosurgical procedures on an outpatient basis in our treatment rooms, among them the removal of moles, warts, fibromas, cysts and lipomas as well as of non-melanoma skin cancer and melanoma.

Acne scars
Acne scars that remain can be treated with laser and radiofrequency methods. The precondition is that the acne itself is no longer active.

Age and sun spots on the face and hands can be treated with the Q-switched ruby laser. Because not every brown spot is harmless, we first look at each one with the dermatoscope.

Age warts are benign, brownish, often greasy-looking nodules that increase in number with age. Once it is clear that they really are age warts, we ablate them with the Erbium:YAG laser.

We treat wrinkles and loss of skin firmness with the fractional CO₂ laser, radiofrequency microneedling and the Erbium:YAG laser. Which method fits depends on the findings and on the healing time you can plan for.

We treat fat deposits on the chin, hips, abdomen, thighs and knees without surgery and without a laser: with cryolipolysis or injection lipolysis. None of these methods is a way to lose weight.

We treat congenital and acquired vascular changes such as port-wine stains (naevus flammeus), haemangiomas and spider naevi with the dye laser and other vascular lasers.

Xanthelasmata are whitish-yellow fat deposits on the eyelids. In about 30 per cent of those affected a lipid metabolism disorder lies behind them, which is why the blood lipid values should be checked before any removal.

Unwanted hair on the face, in the armpits, in the bikini zone, on the back and on the legs can be permanently reduced with laser light. How well the treatment responds depends above all on the hair colour.

With increased sweating in the armpits, the sweat glands can be reduced with fractional radiofrequency microneedling. Treatment with botulinum toxin is available as an alternative.

Individual psoriasis plaques can be treated with the excimer laser: monochromatic UV light at a wavelength of 308 nm that reaches only the affected skin.

Stretch marks are usually a flat form of scarring. The colour of the marks decides the order of treatment: reddened marks first with the dye laser, faded ones with the fractional CO₂ laser or radiofrequency microneedling.

LightSheer® diode laser
A diode laser with a cooled handpiece and a small laser spot. We use it for hair removal on small areas such as the upper lip, chin and cheeks, and where sensitivity to pain is pronounced.

A diode laser with integrated contact cooling, a large laser spot and melanin measurement in the treatment area. We use it for hair removal on large areas such as the back, legs and bikini area.

An ablative laser that removes skin in very thin layers without releasing much heat into the depth. We use it for benign raised moles, seborrhoeic keratoses and actinic keratoses.

A pulsed UV laser at 308 nm that irradiates only the affected areas of skin and spares the healthy skin. We use it above all for psoriasis and vitiligo.

A pulsed laser at 595 nm whose light is absorbed by the red blood pigment. We use it for dilated capillaries, couperose and rosacea, port-wine stains, haemangiomas and spider veins.

An ablative laser at 10,600 nm that removes the skin in a grid of tiny zones and stimulates new collagen formation. In our practice it is part of the Alma Hybrid, which combines the CO₂ wavelength with a non-ablative 1570 nm laser.

Intense pulsed light (IPL) from a xenon flash lamp, used for areas of redness and for pigment and age spots; the further applications are listed below. We explain the principle of the combination with radiofrequency current (RF) for fine hairs, areas of redness and wrinkles; whether this combination continues to be offered with our current system is something we clarify with you.

The KTP laser works with light of 532 nm wavelength, which is absorbed by the red blood pigment. We use it for vascular changes: dilated small vessels on the face, spider naevi, haemangiomas, port-wine stains and spider veins following sclerotherapy.

The long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser penetrates deep into the skin. We use it for reticular veins and spider veins, for dilated small vessels, for hair removal including darker skin types, and for nail fungus.

We treat nail fungus with a combined approach: laser, topical and, where needed, systemic therapy as well as podiatric nail care.
Learn more →Photodynamic therapy (PDT)
In photodynamic therapy, a light-activatable active substance makes diseased skin cells sensitive to red light; the subsequent illumination damages these cells. The method is used for actinic keratoses and other superficial forms and precursors of non-melanoma skin cancer.

The picosecond laser delivers ultra-short light pulses and breaks down pigment predominantly through a pressure wave rather than heat. We use it for benign pigment spots and in tattoo removal.

The Q-switched Nd:YAG laser works with either 532 or 1064 nm and is used to remove tattoos. Which wavelength is used depends on the colour of the pigments.

In radiofrequency microneedling, fine needles deliver heat energy in the depth of the skin and stimulate new collagen formation there, while the skin surface is largely spared. We use the INFINI system for acne scars, loss of skin firmness and excessive sweating.

The Q-switched ruby laser with a wavelength of 694 nanometres is strongly absorbed by melanin and dark colour pigments. We use it for benign pigment spots and certain tattoo colours, in each case after dermatological assessment.

Stubborn warts on the hands and feet can be treated with water-filtered infrared A light (wIRA). Apart from a mild sensation of warmth the irradiation is painless, which makes it suitable for children as well.
